Daddy’s Home is a 2015 family comedy flick which tells a story about a stepdad, Brad Whitaker, a radio host trying to get his stepchildren to love him and call him Dad. But his plans turn upside down when the biological father, Dusty Matron, returns. (c) IMDb
The movie, which stars Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg, is a decent comedy film. Both of them delivered good lines and comedic timing but at times, the movie fell short of sustaining the humor and it became dry. There are times the pacing became slow, dragging and boring. Some scenes aren’t necessary being there. The cinematography and musical scoring/soundtrack is just typical for a holiday movie; the antics and bickering of two leads including comedy scenes are all too familiar and clićhed.
It may not be a better comedic film but what I like about the film is the flow of the story and the messages it imparts to the audience especially about teaching good manners to kids, maturity for the parents or adults in general, choosing own battles, standing up for yourself, etc. All these though needs parental guidance to let the kids understand each circumstances.
I will rate the movie 3 out of 5 stars.
