Summit Entertainment and its mother company Lionsgate just released Alex Proyas-helmed 2016 movie ‘Gods of Egypt’ starring Gerald Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Elodie Yung, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, and Courtney Eaton. This will be released on February 2016.
Basing from the trailer, the movie could have been interesting with regards to the story line and the plot but the heavily saturated and poorly done CGI wasted the opportunity to be a good franchise. It could be better if they borrow or make ‘300’ as their inspiration to shoot the film, at least it may spark interest to the moviegoers. They also went into the ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ route by white-washing the characters which were supposed to have at least a lineage of Arabic/Egyptian/Middle Eastern features. I think they will rely more on the bankability of Gerald and Nikolaj.
Also released recently are the colorful, unimpressive character posters.
