TV Series Personal Reaction – The Walking Dead Season 6 Premiere

The Walking Dead Season 6 Pilot Episode “First Time Again”

The pilot episode of the new season of The Walking Dead started as a continuation of Season 5 finale and quickly created tension to all characters especially those who are still struggling to accept the reality of righteousness, practicality, reputation, reverence and character. Though given the situation, it is good to see that there is still a character by the name of Morgan to make or remind Rick in comprehending about value of life, integrity, and humility as the latter is slowly to get away from being sane and controlling. This episode isn’t as shocking as the other pilot episodes of this series but it provided a strong start to build up the tone and premise for future episodes. This is good balance of grittiness and subtlety. It is also noted that this episode didn’t provided a clue on what will be the big picture or the premise for this season. The frames were carefully edited and connected to show bold & daring scenes while displaying the narrative including flashbacks. One thing I also liked is the use of black and white approach to differentiate backstory and the present situation. The cliffhanger ending was an effective way to annoy the viewers. For me, I wanted to have the next episode to know who the effin was blowing some horns which ruined their entire plan. I can’t wait to see the next episode.
