Today will be a clash between DC and Marvel!
The Flash Season 2 Pilot Episode “The Man Who Saved Central City”
The pilot episode of the new season of The Flash started somewhat simple. It didn’t give us the high octane, energy-filled action sequences that we expect from a pilot episode but rather opted to be low-key and focus on his personal struggle and conflict after the freak black hole incident while still carrying out his heroic pursuits in Central City. Though this may seem weaker compared to the pilot episode of its predecessor season, I think this is a good way to start the season by slowly starting to build up the premise and not give away too much in order for the audience to come back for more especially when the cliffhanger ending will make you realize it will now connect to its spin off series, League of Legends, courtesy of the new character. My only concern for this episode was the use of the CGI for some green screen scenes which was not neatly edited and it felt like cartoon-ish. I am positive The Flash will pick up its momentum immediately to take utmost advantage of its popularity and relevance.
Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3, Episode 2 “Purpose in the Machine”
It was good to see Gemma back, after she was swallowed by an ancient monolith, thanks to Fitz persistence to unravel the mystery and I appreciate more of the fact the monolith is already destroyed by collective effort of the team (but honestly because of Daisy) to give way to a much bigger plot of resurrecting Hydra. It was also good to see Agent May in this episode though it may seem that she is battling between her personal and professional life as an agent but in the chooses the latter. There wasn’t any big fight scenes tailing in this episode which is fine as they purely focused on character and story development which are important to understand where this season will lead up to.
