I finally get to see one of the critically acclaimed movie of 2015 and I did not regret watching this film. I always admire indie films and I am such a fan of it and the fact that indie films have such amazing and juicy storylines and plots than that of a commercial movie and Ex-Machina is no exception.
It has everything a movie has to offer from the story and plot to the convincing acting cast and the feel of the genre. For this, it has the element of a mystery thriller and it delivered from its thought provoking twists and turns to the pacing of the story… it’s just too perfect.
The movie stars Oscar Isaac (who will be in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens), Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander. It revolves around a complicated plot knowns as Artificial Intelligence. It explores around the possibility of humans trying to play God and believes they can perfect the art of making AI human-like in terms of emotion, thinking and adaptability and it get to a point where I question the very same simple questions I ask of when can we say enough is enough on people playing God and putting impossible things in their own hands even though they know too well the consequences it will bring. How dangerous the path will be in the future when these things will turn into reality and spins out of proportion.
Anyway, the choice of the cast is very impressive especially Alicia Vikander who stole the show with her realistic portrayal as an AI as well as Oscar Isaac who delivers so well with providing thrill and chill to the movie and Domhnall is convincingly on spot as well.
All in all, I give Ex-Machina 5 out of 5 stars for that flawlessness and I can say this is for the books as one of the best movies of 2015.
